Precaution and disciplines Before Doing “YOGA”

I am going to explain some of the precautions and disciplines before doing yoga.
The Stomach should be empty and there is not bowel movements. If you feel constipation and bowel then go for some special “Asanas” like “Sirsasana” and “Sarvangasana”. Attempt other asanas after evacuating Bowels.

BATH: Taking a bath before and after practicing asanas refreshes the body and mind.
FOOD:  Ideally you should do asanas in empty stomach. But sometime it is not possible then take a light meal and practice the asanas after one hour. Food may be taken half an hour after completing the asanas
TIME: The best time to practice is early in the morning or late in the evening.  If you do yoga in the Morning, it makes one’s  day very energetic and refreshing. And if you practice in the evening then it removes the fatigue of the day’s strain and makes one fresh and calm. So you can choose as per you convenience.
NOTE: Do not practice asanas when sun becomes hot.
PLACE: It should be clean and airy place, free from insects and noise. The floor shouldn’t be uneven. You can lay blanket on the leveled floor.
CLOTHES: Clothes should be stretchable or airy.
Breathing: Always Breathe through your nostrils only and not through the mouth.
NOTE: After completing the practice of asanas always lie down in “savasana” for at least 10 minutes to blood flow normalize.

I will describe some important Asanas in my Next Blog. Till then take care and Keep Healthy.
